Professional Etching Press with printing bed size of 52x100 cm and direct drive, manufactured in Italy with high quality materials: - Lateral structures in aluminum alloy, - 11 cm diameter rollers made from heavy duty steel tube with upgraded centre shafting which is machined to a fine tolerance and - 5 mm thick printing bed with anti-oxidation treatment fitted with safety stops on both sides. Allows you to print a sheet of 50x70 cm. - Direct drive (withour gear). - Supplied with one 100% woven blanket 4 mm thickness and stand. - Three-year warranty.
Our Professional Etching Presses are suitable for all Intaglio Printmaking Techniques, such as: intaglio (more commonly called engraving), burin, etching, drypoint, aquatint and mezzotint, as well as for Relief Printmaking Techniques, such as : linocut and woodcut, where the matrix is usually inked by roller.
The aluminum is used on the lateral structures and on the tie rods that hold the two structures together. The aluminium has become the second important material after steel in less than a century. The distinctive features that distinguish aluminium from other materials are: weight, conductibility, excellent resistance to atmospherical agents and good mechanical characteristics; its alloys reach very high resistance limits, even superior to those of the common steels used in construction, therefore they are able to fulfil demanding requirements in industrial applications. This explains why in the applications that require high mechanical resistance and reduced weight, the alluminium alloys have found continuously increasing uses.
Intaglio Etching Ink – is a soft black intaglio ink composed of a mixture of ivory & carbons blacks and Prussian Blue. This black is slightly blue tinted and has a low viscosity.
Lightfastness: Completely lightfast, even when lightened. ★★★
Opacity: Opaque ◼
Strengths: - particular heat treatment that ensures an always sharp edge and constant hardness - the sharp points and the enlarged handle allow you to engrave zinc very easily
It is a type of wide-weave cotton gauze, it is starched and is used in the inking phase of the plate. The large texture allows you to clean the plate from excess ink without removing what has penetrated into the engraved marks.
